Alexander Hamilton / Russell P. Smith - 1a. ed. - Washington : America's National Park Press, 2017 - 24 p. ; 23 cm.

Alexander Hamilton's face is one of the most recognizable in America. Although he appears on the ten-dollar bill, most Americans know little about him. A biographer summed up his importance this way: "If Washington was the father of his country and Madison the father of the Constitution, then Alexander Hamilton was surely the father of the American government." In other words, Hamilton was most responsible for assuring that the promises of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution became reality in a practical, effective, nation government. His story is one of the great examples of the "self-made man.
